| Rivera Research and Development Have you ever taken the back off your amplifier? Maybe you noticed the self tapping screws that are used. These are used by just about everybody. Every time I work on an amplifier now, and remove the basic cabinet panels, think of the Rivera amplifiers, and how they use machine screws and inserts for even this area of amplifier construction. If you have a chance sometime, look at a Rivera Amplifier; even the cabinet screws are machine screws with inserts .... through bolted tube sockets and transformers ... all with NUTS AND BOLTS. All this construction and mechanical design quality is not even the main aspect of the picture. First and foremost you get tone and choices. You have voicing options of both American and British in the same amplifier, rather than just a higher gain channel with the same voicing as most manufacturers use as the second channel. In many of the Rivera designs, DC is used on the heater circuits rather than AC .... less noise. The first gain stage uses the two sides of the triode in parallel for very high headroom, rather than in series as in some designs, and this also reduces noise greatly. If you would like an amplifier that you will love every day right now, AND alone one that your grand kids will love playing when they talk about "the old vintage stuff from the 20th century", take a look and listen to these. These Rivera amplifiers are the classics of tomorrow, and the sound of today. If you are in that "place" where at times you want that Marshall type sound sometimes, and the Fender type sound at other times, look at some of the Rivera models that are voiced differently on each channel... they will surprise most of you.
