July 27th 2002 - Lee Flyer out from Atlanta for the International Pop Overthrow and Folks from Musicplayer.com forums
|
He picked the restautant,
made the reservations, and
made sure it all went like a
well run deal .....
Thanks.
Some of the group at the lunch. All here from the forum at
MusicPlayer.com from as far away as San Diego and Atlanta GA.
Dave Bryce - Moderator
of "The Keyboard
Corner" area of
musicplayer.com forums.
Has a Vipre by the way
and loves it ...sent his
regards to Aspen.
Is this a better picture of Dave?
By the way, I did not take these photos, so take it out on somebody else
if you have a complaint!
I may be wrong, probably am
most of the time .... but I think
a thank you here is due, as
this is who took some of the
pictures seen here.
Lee (right) and
Kyle... who we
all came to see,
and who came
to play at the
event all the way
from Atlanta GA
to back their
friend Paul
Melancon who
was perfoming.
On a side note,
Paul is quite a
telent to say the
least ....
Lee on the role
of lead guitar
was terrific, as
was Kyle on
Bass.
Myles talking tubes, passing
out gifts from Aspen at
Groove Tubes (with new
price lists too that have the
reduced microphone prices I
might add as a bit of a GT
plug).
Next time, if you are in the
area, you may want to show
up ... lots of great folks, great
interchange of info, new
friends, and free party favors
... what a great way to spend
the day.
As a side thought .... it was the first time I have dealt with meeting a group of folks from the Internet, where the
entire group was actually .... WHO they said they were .... WHAT they said they were .... and ACTUAL real
people. I guess that is one of the differences between forums and chat rooms of different subject interests.
Myles continues talking ..... (big surprise
anybody) .... but still has one captive
listener.
I finally stop talking in mid
thought, as it is pointed out
to me that:
1. Nobody is listening.
2. I put one guy on the other
side of me to sleep.
3. Nobody cares now that all
the free gifts are gone.
I am am speechless as the
photo is snapped.
Later in the evening ... Paul center
stage, and Lee on the left of the photo.
Lee has a 52 LP Goldtop, so rather
than risk her guitar, I lent her one a bit
newer ( about 23 or so years old). It
was the first time it had been played
in years for more than five minutes.
Lee made it sound better that it had
sounded in years, even with the same
amps that everybody in all the groups
shared, that were not up to her ability.
In any case, it was a great show,
I did what I could to
correct the
exposure of these
photos, it was very
dark in here to say
the least.
I think that's Jeff on the
left, the head of Village
Recording. He's the
"boss" over at Village. If
you have listened to the
radio for more than 15
minutes, chances are
you have heard a few
thing recorded there.
Too many people, too
many names .... I will get
it in time.
Okay ... I may be way off
base here, but it seems
that our host that found
the restaurant and made
the reservations, has a
possible admirer?
I am probably wrong
when you look at my
own background in
these sorts of thing, but
maybe?
